Situation:
One of Spintech’s key customers needed a product that requires a large amount of detail work. Manufacturing this product includes drilling, cutting, deburring, and trimming. When these activities are done manually, they consume a lot of man-hours. Spintech wanted to automate these processes to improve the consistency of quality and reduce the time it takes to manufacture these parts.
Solution:
FastLane was able to leverage the Ohio
Defense Manufacturing Community grant to support Spintech with an automation solution which allowed them to meet their customers’ expectations. As a result, they are now able to make multiple parts in the same amount of time it used to take to make one. This has freed up employees to work on new projects. Spintech was able to take on more work and grow the business because of the time saved. Spintech has grown from 20 to 30 full-time employees and is on track to double last year’s orders.
